Devon Brown

Devon is an athletic top of the order type speedy centerfielder with young features and projection remaining in his body. Has a true above average tool in speed (6.8 60) which has a chance to continue to improve. Quick feet and gets to full speed in a hurry to give him a chance to be a base stealing threat and cover some ground in the OF. Defensively Devon projects as a CF. Shows decent OF actions, bit of a longer arm stroke but an accurate arm and backspins the ball with good skip at contact. Arm strength will continue to improve and be playable in CF. Offensively Devon shows a very simple swing. Slight open to square start with a big leg kick but gets foot down on time and a small hand load straight back to get into a launch position. Short swing, direct to the ball with some bat speed and accurate barrel. Has a tendency to cut his swing off and limit extension tho something that should be able to be fixed/improved. Quality bat to ball skills. Type of guy that should be able to make some things happen on the field with speed and athleticism. See Devon as a nice D2/D3 type recruiting target.
