Evaluation

Kole is a young, athletic, & projectable 2 way player with a chance to contribute on the mound and at the plate. Young features but a great body with long limbs and lot of room to fill out as he gets older. Offensively Kole shows a loose swing with excellent leverage & extension thru zone. Bit of a hand wrap creates some length at times but separates properly and shows ability to put the barrel on the ball and drive the ball to pull side with some occasional authority. Still learning to use his legs but the swing works and has a chance for an average & power combination as he continues developing. Defensively Kole is athletic enough to move between either corner OF spot and 1B. Moves easily on the field and projects as an average defender. A 7.3 runner presently, Kole doesn’t project as a burner but long strides and as he continues to develop Kole should have a chance to be a slightly above average runner at least. On the mound Kole is very interesting as well. Has an ideal pitchers frame with plenty of projection remaining and also a plus athlete for a pitching prospect. Works from a semi windup with an up tempo delivery and some moderate effort. Tends to get a little east/west and get off line with the plate but has athleticism to make adjustments quickly. Compact arm stroke and really hides the ball pretty well, comes from a 3/4 , short arm type slot. Works off a 4 seam FB (74-76) that has some occasional late cutting finish, plenty more velo to come as he cleans up his delivery and continues to mature. Also shows an ability to spin the ball, slurvy type breaking ball (58-62) with a wide break and small tilt. Overall Aamir shows a ton of upside both as a position player and a LHP. See him a potential D1 recruiting target if he is able to continue developing.
